Presale: The Nudge

"A novel that will resonate with classic horror fans as well as Night Vale devotees."

-starred Kirkus Review

Hi, Joseph here. I am so excited to announce my first book in five years (??), The Nudge. The Nudge is a straight up horror story in the tradition of Stephen King or Shirley Jackson.

Late one night, a wounded man checks into a remote roadside hotel. He's running from something he can't explain or escape. And over the course of a night, he'll tell the hotel's proprietor how his life fell apart. As our narrator's story unfolds, he begins to question whether he's fled far enough...

There are two incredible ways to experience this story: There will be a print version with terrifying illustrations by Night Vale's resident artist Jessica Hayworth (Kirkus's review compared them to the infamous illustrations in Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark!). And there will be an audiobook version performed by Night Vale's Cecil Baldwin and Kevin R. Free. A difficult choice, but don't worry. You could always get both!

Pre-orders make a huge, huge, huge difference for authors, so if you think you'll want to read this, please preorder it wherever you get your books. (Your local bookstore would be happy to take your preorder.)

And, at each show, Symphony (aka Tamika Flynn) will be choosing her favorite cosplay. The winner will be featured in a Night Vale social media post AND we will post pictures on our Patreon - the posts will be open to the public and anyone (free members or higher) can share their own cosplay and tour photos. You may even end up in our newsletter.

Don't like to cosplay? No worries, plenty of people come to our shows cosplaying as themselves, and we love you all just as much!

See you there!

Ticket and tour information.

Night Vale is going on tour again!

We're bringing a brand new live-only script: Murder Night in Blood Forest. Tamika and a few hundred of her closest friends (that's you) are on a camping trip in Blood Forest to celebrate the annual Murder Night, the one night a year where crows are legal. But a masked killer is hunting Tamika's friends (again, that's you). Can Cecil and Tamika solve the mystery in time? And what of Cecil's brand new and malfunctioning ProducerBot?

Our live shows is at the heart of what we do, and are designed to be enjoyed by everyone, whether you have every episode memorized or aren't quite sure what a "Night Vale" is. So bring your friends! Bring your grandma! Your grandma will love it! We're very good with grandmas.

Season 2 of Unlicensed is now available on Audible! Sign up for your free trial here.

Out in the far reaches of Los Angeles County, where the glamor of Hollywood fades into the long empty of the desert, two unlicensed private detectives are about to face a case that is larger and more complicated then any they’ve faced before.

A ghost-hunting influencer disappears in the middle of a live stream. A beekeeper is murdered after telling his friends that he has come across a dangerous secret.

It is up to unlicensed PIs Lou Rosen and Molly Hatch to put together the pieces, as the powerful elite of California try to stop them. Even if they solve the case, can they come out the other side unscathed?

From the dusty citrus groves of Redlands to the wealthy enclaves of Monterey, season two of Unlicensed is the kind of grand California noir they just don’t make anymore.

Introducing the Night Vale Roleplaying Game

A while back, we announced the Welcome to Night Vale Roleplaying Game. And then we went quiet for a long time because developing a game is not a fast process.

But the game is almost ready to go, and we are excited to bring it to all of you out there.

Which is why our friends at Renegade Game Studios are launching a crowdfunding campaign for the game on BackerKit on October 1! This is your chance to get on the ground floor of this game developed by experience designers in close collaboration with the Night Vale writers.

Prepare to step into the world of Night Vale, where you may uncover incredible mysteries! Or become a mystery yourself! Or get eaten by a librarian, that can also happen. Good luck!
